Who is Mei?
In 1992, Matthew McConaughey wrote out 10 goals for his life, number 4 being “chase my best self.” Twenty-two years later, he delivered his famous Oscar acceptance speech, stating that he needs three things each day: something to look up to, something to look forward to, and something to chase.
“My hero, that’s who I chase. (My hero) is me in 10 years. Every day, every week every month, my hero is always 10 years away. I’m not going to attain that, and that’s fine with me cause it keeps me with someone to keep on chasing.”
My dream has always been to create something I love, something that could fund charities or create foundations. I never knew exactly what I wanted to do when I grew up, but I knew I wanted to help people. People say, "Money makes the world go 'round," and sometimes, it feels true. Building orphanages, bringing clean water to communities — it all requires a cost, or a community of people willing to help.

When creating a business, you’re asked to name it. You pour your time into it, nurture it, and build it into something you want to represent. "What do I want to do? What do I want to represent?" I asked myself. "I want to help people. I want to teach. I want to help kids and bring opportunities, resources, and awareness to communities."
While working as an instructor assistant, I loved teaching the girls the little bits of esthetician advice I had learned. I remembered being a student myself — confused about how to go about things and scared to ask questions I didn’t even know how to ask. There was a time I dreamed of opening salons or spas that also provided continued education for freshly licensed professionals who felt they needed more guidance. I even dreamed of opening a trade school with different departments to help people advance in various careers. "Munos Exceptional Institute," I jokingly thought, but for some reason, I loved it. "Mei? Mei Esthetics? Mei Education? Mei… Informs?"
At that moment, Mei Informs was born and became my someone to keep on chasing.
